Dial in your arrival at the wall with the first variation of Twinkle Toes. You’re going to learn how to “stop yourself at the wall” instead of the outdated method of “letting the wall stop you”.

Pushing your shoulder up while lifting your hips is a foundational action of handstand, so let’s learn it together on the ground first, without the element of balance!

In this tutorial, you’re going to get brilliant at mastering small kick-ins to gain control over the full range of motion. As you progress, you’ll be able to add height and elevation over time, being in complete command of the entire process.

You’re going to learn the shape and movement of Tuck position, but in a much easier way than traditional “donkey kicks” in the middle of the room. The Tuck Slide is a more intelligent way to install the movement of Tuck into your body!

This drill is going to be a game changer for you. Plain and simple. You’re going to use the wall + the weight of one leg to bring your body into balance as you learn to completely control the descent motion downward for handstand!

You’re going to get a short and sweet ab workout here with a classic gymnastics move known as Pike Slides! PRO TIP: Put some socks on for this one to make your sliding easier!

Start off with baby hops and then turn this drill into full floats! This exercise is an ideal habit to get into…and it’s also laying the foundation for handstand press strength!

ELEVATED SCISSOR

One key to your progress in handstand is learning how to add appropriate height to your training. This drill automatically puts you in the shape of handstand with a little assistance!

Are you having trouble figuring out your pelvic tilt while upside down? Well…I have something for that, and it’s going to feel a lot different than just your standard handstand at the wall!

As an introduction to the motions of Straddle, you’re going to start with a beginner variation that utilizes a couple of yoga blocks as targets for your feet, so you can begin to calibrate your jump!

One of the best ways to improve your push strength is through repeated shrug drills at the wall. This video walks you through exactly what to do, and also what to watch out for in your shrug repetitions!

This time you’re removing the blocks and working through the motion of jumping up and splitting the legs and then landing back in the very same spot you started. This tutorial will give you a few helpful hints to make the straddle jump a lot more accessible!
